Fiesta Cultural - Volunteers Needed

Fiesta Cultural is the annual fundraiser celebrating the diversity of our Latino community at Inter-American Magnet School. It features music and dance performances from diverse Latino groups, a Latino food court with food from across Latin America, student crafts, a raffle and more. Mateo Mulcahy, parent of two girls at IAMS, is the chair of this year's Fiesta Cultural.

This year's Fiesta will be held on Saturday, April 30th  4pm-8pm on the school grounds. This event is organized every year by parents and funds valuable school programs such as "the Curriculum of the Americas". The organizers are looking for assistance with this year's Fiesta and hope that many families will consider participating.

If you would like to get involved please join the committee for its next planning meeting on Monday the 7th of March at the Center on Halsted Rm #202 from 6pm-7:30pm. The Center is located on the corner of Halsted and Waveland.

There are a number of areas where help is needed:

  • Volunteers (and a volunteer coordinator)
  • Sponsorship
  • Marketing
  • Raffle prizes
  • Food booth sponsors and vendors representing different countries
  • Arts and crafts...

Please consider coming out this on Monday and/or letting the committee know how you might be able to help out with the event. Mateo can be reached at mmulcahy@oldtownschool.org.
