Calendar for 2012-13 School Year
The proposed calendar for the 2012-13 school year is available at the link below.
The key changes to the calendar include:
- 10 additional days of student attendance for a total of 180 days.
- More full, five-day weeks, going from 20 to 29 weeks, providing less interruption to instruction and more consistency in scheduling for families.
- Reducing holidays from 10 to eight, changing Columbus and Pulaski Days from holidays to student attendance days, providing additional student instruction days without encroaching further into the summer break.
- Conversion of report card pick-up days to student attendance days. Students will now attend school on these days, helping to accommodate the extra days without encroaching on the summer break while also allowing parents the opportunity to meet with teachers and discuss their children’s performance.
