LSC Elections Are Coming

On April 18 (Report Card Pick Up Day), LSC elections will be held at our school; from 6am-7pm, parents and community members can cast 5 votes for any combination of parent and community representatives to serve a 2-year term, from July 2012-June 2014. The LSC is in charge of principal hiring and evaluation, as well as approving the annual budget and school improvement plan. Candidate statements can be found near the Fremont entry: please familiarize yourself with the candidates before election day and have your voice heard by voting for your LSC.

Pumas Win City Championship!

With great spirit and exceptional work, Inter-American’s 5th/6th Grade Basketball Team has won First Place in the Chicago Public Schools Championships! Xavier Castaneda #15, Jesus Ortiz #26, Hamid Bullie #12, Jacob Serrato #11, Adan Ramirez #23, Isaiah Vargas #30, and Izaiah Flores #2 (all 6th graders) rose to victory under the direction of Coach Danny Flores (father of Izaiah) and P.E. teacher Mr. Guadalupe Carrillo.

The key changes to the calendar include:

CPS Tele-Town Hall Meeting February 16 at 6:10 pm

Join a tele-town hall meeting (teleconference call) with CPS CEO Jean-Paul Brizzard on Thursday, Feb. 16, 6:10 p.m. to talk about the Full School Day. The tele-town halls are designed to help CPS parents and guardians, understand the various initiatives that are taking place in the schools and provide parents with the opportunity to ask questions of members of the CPS staff and the CEO.

3rd Grade Inca Day postponed to Friday, February 24th
